Just wanted to take a second to recommend one of SDH's favorite authors, Neil Strauss. I was lucky enough to have been able to meet him at a NYC book signing he did a few weeks back. He might be one of the most interesting people you will ever meet.
His latest book, "Emergency : This Book Will Save Your Life" was every bit as good as I hoped. Dan and I got hooked on Neil's work after reading "The Game : Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists". Neil's style of writing is easy to read, yet intelligent at the same time. He was a former writer for Rolling Stone Magazine and the NY Times.
If you enjoy reading and you are looking for a new book, we strongly reccomend both. He has also written many other books with the likes of Dave Navarro, Jenna Jameson, and Marilyn Manson to name a few.
Just to give you a quick intro into the books, "Emergency" is about Neil's struggle to deal with the ever collapsing state of the US. Neil realizes that he has very few valuable skills to save him if the system collapses, and like "The Game" shows us Neil's step-by-step transformation into manhood.
"The Game" is a little bit lighter in nature. Neil, an extremely geeky writer, learns and masters the art of the pickup. This book details his transformation from wallflower to the World's Greatest Pickup Artist. It really is a great read, and has a lot of neat tricks for guys who want to learn the ways of the pickup artists.
