Being that I am the self proclaimed "Blog Master", I will selfishly start with me first. I (Joshua) am 27 years old. I am a foodie by heart and have been in and out of the food business for most of my working career. I have done everything from being a bar-back to a bartender, managing stores to managing warehouses, waiting tables to eating at them. Aside from my obvious love for food, I have an uncontrollable desire to help people. I believe that we are only as good as the things that we can offer. I guess that's why I am a sucker for charity work. But more about that in future blogs.
Scott, my co-owner is the charmer. He is one of those guys who is good at everything. That's probably why we hate him. But at least I know I will always be able to beat him in soccer. He wishes he was a professional beer pong player and works hard to hone those skills. One last thing, don't sit down to play poker with him, cause he will take all of your money, and probably your pants too. I don't know why, I just think he'd enjoy it. Hopefully he will add a blog about himself to give you some more info about him.
Next in line are Dan and Kyle. Dan is a teachers assistant by trade, but his true love is food. He is the brain child for a lot of the changes that go on at SDH. He has the luxury of not being at the restaurant 70 hrs a week, so it makes it easier. If you really want to make him happy, tell him you love fresh cut french fries. Kyle, "WORKS" for Con Edison when not hanging out at SDH. I say "WORK" cause lets be serious, they don't really do that much work. Like Scott, Kyle is big into Pong and Poker. Those guys just love their vices.
Continuing down the line you will run into, Mikey AKA Guy and Joe Zaza AKA Guy (Yes it does get confusing!). Mikes the muscle of SDH, or he used to be. He was on the unfortunate end of a rough block during one of our weekly "Old Guys vs Youngins" tackle football game. Let's just say, with age comes wisdom, and a natural talent for football domination. Mikey is recovering well and you can ask to see his scar next time you see him around. He often flaunts it under the horrible look of socks with sandals! Joe Zaza, isn't around much since he left us to go away to college. He is all about bettering himself. As if you could get any better than SDH! Joe's Mr. Athletic and is also pretty much good at anything. You can usually find him hiding under the 15 lbs of hair that he has growing out of his backwards hat. If you get him to cut it all off, I'll hook you up with some free food!
Joey Ginger, aptly named for his red hair is a straggler from Pace University. He is the president of TKE and likes to refer to himself as "The Prez". But we just call him Cuz, cause he's a little Italian boy and he feels like family. If you come by and ask to see Anthony, you will probably receive a puzzled look. Since no one remembers that that is his actual real name. He proudly bares the name "Girl Pants" because he wears some tight, TIGHT pants. He's the rocker of the group and probably the only crew member with any musical talent. When he's not hanging out at SDH he is either crashing cars, seeing flying mattresses, or rocking out with his band Two States. Check 'em out on Myspace and play his songs. He loves that.
Last, but certainly not least you got Chris and Marty, the babies of the bunch. Like Girls Pants, you'll pretty much never hear the name Chris thrown around. We like to call him Twink, a name he received years back for his love of Twinkies. We call him that for other reasons, but you'll have to ask him to explain that. I like to think of Twink as the younger brother I never had. He catches a lot of flack at the restaraunt and does a lot of dirty work when he's around. But he is really a genuinely great kid. And we like having him around. Newest to the crew, Marty is Zaza's little brother. I like to refer to him as Scorcesse, just cause its so fun to say. He's a real rookie and we are still breaking him in. But don't worry, we'll get him well trained soon.
If you made it this far I am impressed and a little embarassed for you. You really need to find something better to do with your time than read this boring blog. And in turn, why am I writing such a long blog in the first place? Anyway, you now have a little insight into the guys you will be reading about here. So you are aptly warned, so I am free and clear of any complaints.
